Afternoon Outing!

We met up with Ching Yng, Peter and Christopher and we went off to this famous area in Laos. Which Grace dubbed "Newton Circle" because it is a circle as well. It is filled with foreign and more expensive restaurants.






Peter brought a friend along and we asked him to join in our photo. We din speak much to him though coz we cannot speak Laos.


This is the Italian restaurant that we are gonna eat at. Its considered one of the more expensive ones. Though it cost like maybe SGD$20-30 for a meal. U even get those irritating Farang Chef who walk around and ask if the food is good.



We had lunch with Christopher's friend, a Laotian(the one in orange) who owns several Guesthouses in Laos and a Pub in vientiane.



Christopher showed us the ASEAN ministers compound while they are in Laos. It's a Huge place with individual houses for the ministers and the Laos government is trying to sell it to buyers now since the meeting is over.




After Lunch, we took the tuk tuk to the famous Vientiane Morning Market!Its a misnomer, "Morning market" is opened till 4-5pm. haha
Anyway we were there at around 2pm. Lots of stuff there, its like a small chatuchak market. U get shops selling artifacts, silk, electrical products, clothes, etc.
I got myself a large Ganesha statue! and some tees that cost like SGD$2. Of coz I do not expect the quality to be that good.

Tuk Tuk Rates pasted on some tuk tuks.
Tuk Tuks here are slightly different from the ones in Bangkok. Instead of a van-like tuk tuk We find in Bangkok, the tuk tuks here are motorcycle fronted. Therefore it is smaller.

Oh yeah the currency is known as Kip. Its ridiculous because the biggest note is 20,000 and its like $2 USD. Imagine how much Money Notes u got to carry around here. Thats why in Laos, we can use 3 currencies; USD, Baht and Kip
